Possible Causes
Sensor reading out of expected range, Sensor not properly attached to evaporator wall, Moisture ingress into sensor, Control board misinterpretation
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before accessing internal sensors.
Steps:
- 1. Confirm ambient conditions: Ensure the fridge is not installed in very hot or very cold environments outside the specified range, as this can trigger range faults.
- 2. Access the fridge sensor: Remove shelves and the inner cover where the sensor is located (often near the rear wall). Gently unclip the cover.
- 3. Check mounting: The sensor should be firmly clipped to the wall or evaporator channel. If it is hanging loose, reattach it so it can sense temperature correctly.
- 4. Inspect for moisture: Look for condensation or water inside the sensor housing. If present, replace the sensor, as moisture can alter readings.
- 5. Replace sensor if needed: If F1 persists, install a new fridge compartment sensor. If the error still does not clear, the control board may be at fault and should be checked by a technician.
