Possible Causes
Water supply off, Frozen or kinked water line, Clogged water filter, Faulty dispenser switch or valve
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the appliance and close the water supply valve before working on water lines.
Steps:
- 1. Confirm water supply: Ensure the shutoff valve is open and other taps in the house have water.
- 2. Check for kinks/freezing: Inspect the external and internal water lines for kinks or freezing, especially in the freezer door area. Thaw gently if frozen.
- 3. Replace filter: Install a new water filter if the old one is clogged or overdue.
- 4. Test dispenser switch: Listen for a click or valve hum when pressing the lever. If silent, the switch or control may be faulty.
- 5. Inlet valve: If the valve does not open when commanded (requires live testing), replace the water inlet valve.
