Possible Causes
Clogged water filter, Faulty filter sensor or switch, Incorrect filter installation, Flow meter malfunction
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the water supply to the refrigerator before removing the filter.
Steps:
- Replace filter: Install a new, compatible Arctic water filter. Follow the arrow direction and ensure it locks fully into place.
- Reset indicator: Use the control panel procedure (often pressing and holding the filter or alarm button for 3–5 seconds) to reset the filter timer.
- Check for leaks: Turn water back on and inspect around the filter housing.
- Flush system: Dispense and discard 2–4 liters of water to remove air and carbon fines.
- Sensor check: If E13 remains, inspect the filter housing and any attached sensor or micro-switch for damage or loose wiring. Replace the housing assembly if the sensor is faulty.
Warning: Never use non-approved filter bypass methods; they can cause leaks and water damage.
