Safety first: Unplug the refrigerator before removing the display panel.
Steps:
- Dry the area: If condensation or spills have reached the display, gently dry the surface and surrounding trim. Do not spray cleaners directly onto the panel.
- Remove UI panel: Carefully pry off the trim and remove screws securing the display. Gently pull it forward.
- Check ribbon cable: Ensure the flat cable is fully inserted and locked in its connector at both the UI and main board ends.
- Inspect for corrosion: Look for green/white corrosion on connectors or visible burn marks on the UI board.
- Replace UI board: If buttons remain unresponsive or E15 persists after reseating cables, replace the user interface/display board.
