Possible Causes

Faulty touch control panel, Moisture intrusion behind display, Loose ribbon cable between UI and main board, Damaged UI electronics

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the refrigerator before removing the display panel.

Steps:

  • Dry the area: If condensation or spills have reached the display, gently dry the surface and surrounding trim. Do not spray cleaners directly onto the panel.
  • Remove UI panel: Carefully pry off the trim and remove screws securing the display. Gently pull it forward.
  • Check ribbon cable: Ensure the flat cable is fully inserted and locked in its connector at both the UI and main board ends.
  • Inspect for corrosion: Look for green/white corrosion on connectors or visible burn marks on the UI board.
  • Replace UI board: If buttons remain unresponsive or E15 persists after reseating cables, replace the user interface/display board.

Warning: Avoid static discharge when handling electronic boards; touch a grounded metal object first.
