Possible Causes
Door left open or not sealing, Heavy warm food load recently added, Evaporator fan not running, Partial sealed system failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: No internal electrical work is required for basic checks, but unplug the unit if removing panels.
Immediate actions:
- Check doors: Ensure the freezer and fridge doors are fully closed and gaskets are clean and undamaged.
- Reduce load: If you recently added a large quantity of warm food, allow 12–24 hours for temperatures to recover. Avoid blocking air vents.
- Listen for fan and compressor: Confirm that the compressor and internal fans are running. If silent, there may be a fan or control issue.
- Inspect for frost buildup: Heavy frost on the freezer back wall indicates a defrost problem (see defrost-related errors).
- Monitor temperature: Use a separate thermometer to verify actual freezer temperature. If it remains high despite normal fan/compressor operation, a sealed system issue may exist and requires a professional.
Note: E16 may clear automatically once the temperature returns to normal.
