Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the refrigerator. The compressor and condenser area can be hot; allow it to cool before touching.
Steps:
- Access condenser fan: Remove the lower rear access panel to expose the compressor and condenser fan.
- Clean area: Vacuum dust and debris from the condenser coils and fan area. Remove any objects blocking the fan blades.
- Spin test: Try turning the fan blades by hand. If they are seized or very stiff, the motor is bad and must be replaced.
- Check wiring: Inspect the fan connector and wiring harness for damage or loose connections. Re-seat connectors firmly.
- Replace motor: If the fan does not run when the compressor is on (after power is restored) and wiring is intact, replace the condenser fan motor with the correct Arctic part.
Warning: Do not operate the refrigerator for extended periods with a non-working condenser fan; this can overheat and damage the compressor.
