Door gasket is torn, cracked, or hardened, causing warm air leaks and frost buildup.

Safety: Unplug the refrigerator when working around door heaters or wiring, if present.

• 1. Inspect entire gasket: Run your hand around the perimeter to feel for gaps or cracks.
• 2. Temporary fix: For minor gaps, warming the gasket with a hair dryer and gently pulling it into shape can improve sealing.
• 3. Replace gasket: Order the correct door gasket for your Avanti model. Remove the old gasket by pulling it from the retainer. Press the new gasket into the channel, working around the door.
• 4. Check seal: Close the door on a strip of paper in several locations. Adjust as needed until the paper is held firmly.
