Possible Causes
Unstable household voltage, Loose power cord connection, Internal power supply failure on control board, Tripped GFCI outlet
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Always unplug the refrigerator before inspecting the cord or outlet. Do not open sealed electronic modules.
- 1. Verify outlet: Plug a lamp or small appliance into the same outlet to confirm it works. Avoid GFCI outlets for refrigerators if possible.
- 2. Inspect power cord: Check for cuts, kinks, or burn marks along the cord. Ensure the plug fits snugly in the outlet.
- 3. Try a different outlet: Temporarily plug the refrigerator into a known-good, dedicated outlet (no extension cords) to rule out house wiring issues.
- 4. Check for surge protectors: Remove any surge strip or adapter; plug directly into the wall.
- 5. If E12 persists: The internal power supply on the main control board may be failing. Replacement of the board is typically required and should be done with power disconnected.
