Freezer is cold but refrigerator section is warm, food spoils in fresh food compartment while ice remains solid in freezer.

Safety: Unplug the refrigerator before removing interior panels.

• 1. Check evaporator fan operation: Open the freezer door and press the door switch closed. You should hear the fan running when the compressor is on. If not, suspect a failed evaporator fan motor.
• 2. Inspect air vents: Look for blocked vents at the back of the refrigerator section. Rearrange food to clear vents and avoid pushing items against the back wall.
• 3. Check for frost buildup: If the freezer rear panel is covered in thick frost, the defrost system may have failed, blocking airflow. Manually defrost the unit completely and then diagnose the defrost heater, thermostat, and control.
• 4. Inspect air damper (if equipped): Some Avanti models have a mechanical or motorized damper between compartments. Access it from the fresh food side and ensure it opens and closes freely. Replace the air damper assembly if stuck or broken.
• 5. Avoid overloading: Do not overpack the freezer; leave space around vents and along the back wall for air circulation.
