Possible Causes
Food debris blocking drain hole, Mold or algae growth in drain tube, Ice blocking drain from freezer, Misrouted drain tube
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the refrigerator before removing drawers or panels.
- 1. Remove drawers: Take out crisper drawers to expose the rear bottom of the fresh food compartment.
- 2. Locate drain hole: Find the small drain opening at the back center. It may be covered by a small plastic grate.
- 3. Clear blockage: Use a small brush or pipe cleaner to remove debris. Then flush the drain with warm water using a turkey baster until it flows freely.
- 4. Check from rear: At the back of the unit, confirm water is reaching the drain pan. Adjust or reinsert the drain tube if it is out of place.
- 5. Prevent recurrence: Avoid pushing food against the back wall and periodically clean the drain area.
