Possible Causes
Defective freezer NTC sensor, Loose sensor connection, Moisture ingress into sensor, Control board input fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before removing any internal panels.
- Check display and settings: Confirm that the set temperature is correct and that no special modes (e.g., Super Freeze) are permanently active.
- Inspect sensor location: Locate the freezer sensor (often behind a small cover on the rear or side wall). Ensure it is not encased in ice.
- Defrost ice around sensor: If the sensor is covered in ice, unplug the unit and allow it to defrost fully (doors open, towels on floor). Do not chip ice with sharp tools.
- Check wiring connector: Remove the sensor cover and gently pull out the sensor connector. Inspect for corrosion or loose pins. Reseat the connector firmly.
- Replace sensor if needed: If temperature swings continue, replace the freezer NTC sensor with a compatible Bauknecht part.
- Further diagnosis: If a new sensor does not resolve the issue, the main control board may be misreading the sensor and should be checked by a technician.
