Possible Causes
No water supply to ice maker, Frozen water inlet tube, Faulty ice maker module, Defective water inlet valve
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the water supply to the refrigerator and unplug it before working on the ice maker or water lines.
- Check water supply: Ensure the household water valve feeding the fridge is fully open and that the supply hose is not kinked.
- Inspect ice maker arm or switch: Make sure the ice maker is turned on and the shutoff arm (if present) is in the down/on position.
- Check for frozen fill tube: Look at the plastic tube that feeds water into the ice maker. If it is blocked with ice, thaw it gently with a hair dryer on low, keeping distance to avoid melting plastic.
- Test water inlet valve: With water supply on and fridge powered, initiate an ice maker test cycle (refer to user manual). If no water flows, the inlet valve may be faulty.
- Replace ice maker or valve: If the ice maker does not cycle or the valve does not open when commanded, replace the defective component with an OEM part.
- Check for leaks: After reassembly, restore water and power, then inspect for any leaks at connections.
