Possible Causes
Defective ambient NTC sensor,Sensor wiring damaged near hinge or cabinet,Loose connector at control board,Main PCB sensor input failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect mains power before accessing control areas.
Step-by-step:
- Understand function: The ambient sensor helps the fridge adjust operation based on room temperature. A fault can cause incorrect cycling.
- Locate sensor: On many Beko models, the ambient sensor is behind the front display panel or near the top hinge area.
- Access display/hinge area: Remove the top cover or display trim carefully (usually clipped or screwed). Do not pull hard on cables.
- Inspect sensor and wiring: Look for a small probe or thermistor with two wires. Check for cuts, pinches, or corrosion.
- Reseat connectors: Unplug and replug the sensor connector to clean contacts.
- Replace sensor: If E5 persists, replace the ambient NTC sensor with the correct part. Secure it in the same location to sense room air properly.
Note: If replacing the sensor does not clear E5, the main PCB may be misreading the sensor and should be evaluated by a technician.
