Possible Causes
Refrigerator not level,Loose condenser or evaporator fan,Compressor mounting grommets worn,Refrigerator touching wall or cabinets
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the refrigerator before touching moving parts.
Step-by-step:
- Level the unit: Use a spirit level on top of the fridge. Adjust front feet so the unit is stable and slightly tilted back to help doors close.
- Check clearances: Ensure the sides and back are not touching walls or cabinets that can transmit vibration.
- Inspect rear components: Remove the rear lower cover and gently move wiring and tubing away from the compressor and fan blades.
- Check fan mounts: Ensure the condenser fan is firmly mounted and blades are not hitting shrouds.
- Listen and isolate: Plug in and carefully listen from different sides to locate the noise source (keep hands clear of moving parts).
Note: Some clicking and gurgling sounds are normal as refrigerant flows and plastic parts expand/contract.
