Possible Causes

Failed door switch, Misaligned door magnet (for reed or Hall sensors), Broken wiring in door harness, Faulty input on control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power before removing switch assemblies.

Check door switch operation:

  • Open the door and locate the door switch (usually near the top or side frame).
  • Press the switch manually and observe if the interior light turns on/off (with power on, if safe). If there is no response, the switch may be faulty.

Inspect and reseat:

  • Unplug the unit, gently pry out the switch using a flat tool wrapped in tape to avoid scratching.
  • Check the connector for looseness or corrosion and reseat it.

Replacement:

  • If the switch feels loose, sticks, or fails continuity testing (if you have a meter), replace it with the correct Blomberg part.

Note: For models using magnetic door sensors, ensure the door gasket and magnet strip are intact and the door closes fully. Misalignment can cause E7 without a bad switch.
