Possible Causes
Evaporator fan not running, Air vents blocked by food, Damper door stuck closed, Heavy frost on evaporator blocking airflow
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Quick checks:
- Ensure air vents at the back and sides of the refrigerator compartment are not blocked by containers or bags.
- Listen for the evaporator fan in the freezer; it should run when the compressor is on and the door switch is pressed.
Inspect for frost:
- If the freezer back wall is covered in thick frost, the defrost system may have failed. Perform a full manual defrost (unplug 12–24 hours) to restore airflow temporarily.
Damper door:
- Locate the air damper between freezer and fridge (often behind a cover in the fridge section).
- Check if it opens/closes when temperature is adjusted. A stuck or broken damper will need replacement.
