Refrigerator door will not close properly or pops open

Safety: Unplug the refrigerator before adjusting hinges if tools are required near wiring.

Steps to improve door closure:

• 1. Check for obstructions: Ensure shelves and large containers are not preventing the door from closing fully.
• 2. Inspect gasket: Look for tears, gaps, or hardened sections. Clean the gasket with warm soapy water to restore flexibility.
• 3. Level the unit: Adjust front feet so the fridge leans slightly backward, helping doors close by gravity.
• 4. Adjust hinges: Tighten loose hinge screws. On some models, hinge position can be adjusted to raise or lower the door.
• 5. Replace gasket: If the gasket is damaged or does not seal even after cleaning, replace it with a compatible Bompani gasket. Warm it gently with a hair dryer to help it conform to the frame.
