Possible Causes

Defective water inlet valve, Frozen water line in door or freezer, Clogged water filter, Faulty flow meter or sensor

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the refrigerator and shut off the water supply before disconnecting any water lines.

Step-by-step:

  • Check water supply: Confirm the household shutoff valve is fully open and the supply line is not kinked or crushed.
  • Replace or reseat water filter: A clogged filter is a common cause. Install a new Bosch-approved filter and ensure it is fully locked in place.
  • Check for frozen lines: If the fridge is very cold or installed in a cold room, the dispenser line in the door can freeze. Increase fridge temperature slightly and leave the door closed for several hours. Some models allow running a warm cloth along the dispenser area to help thaw.
  • Test dispenser: After filter replacement and thawing, press the dispenser lever for 2–3 minutes to purge air. If no water flows and you hear no valve click, the inlet valve or control may be faulty.
  • Inspect inlet valve: Access the rear lower panel, locate the water inlet valve, and check for leaks or damaged wiring. A multimeter can be used to test coil resistance (typically 200–500 Ω).

Note: If the valve tests good and lines are not frozen, the flow sensor or control board may be at fault and require professional diagnosis.
