Possible Causes

Defective door switch, Misaligned door not closing fully, Damaged or dirty door gasket, Faulty door sensor magnet (on some models)

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Work with the unit unplugged when adjusting doors or replacing switches.

Steps:

  • Check door closure: Ensure no containers or shelves are preventing the door from closing fully. Look for warped shelves or oversized items.
  • Inspect gaskets: Examine door seals for tears, gaps, or debris. Clean with warm soapy water and dry thoroughly. Use the paper test: close the door on a sheet of paper; you should feel resistance when pulling it out.
  • Test door switch: Locate the door switch (usually in the frame). Press it in and out; the interior light should turn on/off. If not, the switch may be faulty.
  • Replace switch if needed: Pry out or unscrew the switch, disconnect the wires, and install a new Bosch-compatible switch, reconnecting wires in the same orientation.
  • Check door alignment: If the door sags or rubs, adjust the hinge screws slightly to level the door so it seals properly.

Note: If the physical switch and gasket are fine but E09 persists, the control board's door input circuit may be defective and require service.
