Freezer cold but refrigerator section warm, ice buildup on back freezer wall

Safety first: Unplug the refrigerator before removing interior panels. Do not chip ice with sharp tools.

Immediate fix:

• Manual defrost: Remove food, unplug the unit, and leave doors open for 12–24 hours to melt all ice. Use towels to absorb water.

Follow-up:

• Inspect evaporator: After defrosting, remove the freezer rear panel and check the heater, sensor, and wiring for damage.
• Test components: Use a multimeter to check heater continuity and sensor resistance. Replace any failed parts with Bosch-approved components.
• Clear drain: Ensure the defrost drain hole and tube are clear so meltwater can exit properly.

Note: If frost returns within days, the control board may not be initiating defrost cycles correctly and should be evaluated by a technician.
