How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the refrigerator before accessing the control panel or main board.

Step 1 – Inspect the display panel:

Remove the trim around the display (often clipped or held by small screws).
Gently pull the display module forward to access the wiring harness.
Check for loose connectors or signs of moisture ingress.

Step 2 – Reseat connectors:

Disconnect the ribbon cable or harness from the display and main board (rear of unit).
Inspect pins for corrosion or bending.
Reconnect firmly, ensuring full insertion.

Step 3 – Visual check of PCBs:

Look for burnt spots, cracked solder joints, or swollen capacitors on both the display PCB and main control board.
If damage is visible, replacement of the affected board is recommended.

Step 4 – Test operation:

Restore power and check if the E6 code clears.
If the error persists and wiring is intact, replace the display module first; if that does not resolve it, the main control board is likely faulty.
