Safety first: Unplug the refrigerator before removing drawers or panels.
Step 1 – Remove drawers and shelves:
- Take out crisper drawers and lower shelves to expose the rear bottom of the compartment.
Step 2 – Locate and clear drain:
- Find the small drain hole or channel at the back.
- Use a cotton swab or soft brush to remove debris.
- Flush with warm water using a syringe or baster until water flows freely to the drain pan below.
Step 3 – Prevent recurrence:
- Avoid pushing food items against the back wall.
- Periodically clean the drain area during routine maintenance.
