Possible Causes
Household power outage, Loose power cord connection at wall outlet, Tripped circuit breaker or GFCI, Faulty wall outlet supplying intermittent power
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not open electrical outlet boxes unless you are qualified. Work only with the refrigerator unplugged when inspecting the cord.
- 1. Confirm power is stable: Check other appliances or lights on the same circuit. If they flicker or lose power, have an electrician inspect the circuit.
- 2. Inspect the power cord: Pull the refrigerator slightly away from the wall. Verify the Café refrigerator's power cord is fully inserted into the outlet and not pinched or damaged. If the cord is warm, frayed, or cracked, discontinue use and contact service.
- 3. Reset the code: Press and hold the appropriate control panel buttons (refer to the user manual; often pressing any button or cycling power will clear PF). Unplug the unit for 5 minutes, then plug back in to reset the control.
- 4. Check the breaker: Locate the dedicated refrigerator breaker in your electrical panel. Reset it fully OFF then back ON. Avoid using extension cords or power strips; plug directly into a grounded wall outlet.
- 5. Monitor temperatures: After clearing PF, monitor freezer and fresh food temperatures for several hours. If temperatures remain stable and no further PF codes appear, no repair is needed.
