Possible Causes
Failed PTC start relay, Defective overload protector, Seized compressor, Low supply voltage
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the appliance before accessing the compressor electrical box.
Steps:
- 1. Access start device: Remove the rear lower cover and the plastic housing on the side of the compressor to expose the CDA compressor start relay/PTC and overload.
- 2. Inspect components: Look for burn marks, cracking, or a burnt smell.
- 3. Replace start components: Fit new, model-specific start relay and overload protector. These are common failure points and relatively easy to replace.
- 4. Test operation: Restore power and observe. If the compressor still fails to start and clicks, the compressor itself may be seized and will require professional replacement.
Warning: Do not bypass overload protection; it prevents overheating and fire risk.
