Possible Causes
Failed ambient NTC sensor, Sensor dislodged from correct position, Damaged sensor wiring, Faulty main control PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect mains power before accessing external sensor locations.
Steps:
- 1. Locate the ambient sensor: On many CDA refrigerators, the ambient sensor is mounted behind the front control panel or in the grille area, sensing room temperature.
- 2. Visual check: Ensure the sensor is not dangling inside the cabinet or pressed against warm components, which would give false readings.
- 3. Test the sensor: Unplug the sensor and measure resistance at room temperature. Compare with other NTC sensors (several kΩ). Replace if open or shorted.
- 4. Replace sensor: Fit a new CDA ambient temperature NTC sensor and secure it in the original location.
- 5. If E10 persists: Inspect wiring to the PCB. If wiring is intact, the PCB may be misreading the sensor and require replacement by a professional.
Note: Incorrect ambient readings can cause the fridge to overcool or undercool, especially in very warm or very cold rooms.
