Door Switch / Door Sensor Fault
E6 is displayed and the interior light and fan may not operate correctly, or the unit does not respond to door opening.

Possible Causes
Failed mechanical door switch, Misaligned magnetic door sensor (reed switch), Broken door switch wiring, Faulty main control PCB input
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect the appliance from mains before removing any internal trims.
Steps:
- 1. Check basic operation: Open the fridge door and see if the interior light comes on and the fan stops (on fan-assisted models). If not, the door switch/sensor may be faulty.
- 2. Locate the door switch: On many CDA refrigerators, the switch is a small plunger in the cabinet frame or a magnetic sensor behind the liner near the top.
- 3. Inspect and clean: For plunger switches, press them in and out; they should move freely. Clean any dirt or sticky residue. For magnetic sensors, ensure the door magnet (often in the door gasket) is present and not damaged.
- 4. Electrical test: Remove the switch (usually clipped or held by a small screw) and test continuity with a multimeter while pressing the plunger. Replace if it does not change state.
- 5. Replace the switch/sensor: Fit a new CDA door switch assembly or magnetic door sensor as per your model. Reconnect the wiring and refit the trim.
- 6. If E6 remains: The main PCB input circuit may be faulty. This requires professional diagnosis.
Note: A faulty door switch can also cause defrost and temperature issues because the control logic relies on door status.
