Possible Causes
Normal pressure equalization, Door gasket sealing very tightly, Blocked cabinet pressure equalization vent
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: No electrical work is required.
Steps:
- 1. Wait a moment: It is normal for a vacuum to form after closing the freezer door; wait 30–60 seconds before reopening.
- 2. Check vent: Some CDA models have a small vent to equalize pressure. Ensure it is not blocked by packaging.
- 3. Gasket lubrication: Lightly wipe the CDA freezer door gasket with a damp cloth and a tiny amount of food-safe silicone spray to reduce sticking.
Note: This is usually a normal characteristic, not a fault.
