Possible Causes
Frozen ice maker fill tube, Faulty ice maker valve section, Jammed ice maker motor, Ice level sensor failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off the ice maker and unplug the fridge before working on the ice area.
Steps:
- 1. Check ice maker switch: Ensure the ice maker is turned on via the control panel or mechanical arm.
- 2. Inspect fill tube: Look at the plastic tube that feeds water into the ice maker. If it is blocked with ice, defrost it gently with warm air (hairdryer on low, at a safe distance).
- 3. Test water valve: The dual/triple CDA water inlet valve has a separate coil for the ice maker. A technician can test this coil; if open-circuit, replace the valve.
- 4. Check for jams: Remove the ice bucket and inspect the ice maker for broken cubes or obstructions. Clear any jams.
- 5. Replace ice maker: If the motor does not cycle and the module is receiving power, replace the CDA ice maker assembly.
Note: It may take several hours after repair for new ice to be produced.
