How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the refrigerator before working on the ice maker.
- Inspect ice maker: Remove the ice bin and visually inspect the ice maker assembly. Look for jammed cubes, broken plastic parts, or ice buildup.
- Clear jams: Gently remove any stuck ice with a plastic utensil. Do not use metal tools that can damage the mold.
- Check wiring: Ensure the ice maker harness is fully connected and not damaged.
- Reset ice maker: Some Cecotec models have a test or reset button on the ice maker. Press and hold according to the user manual to initiate a test cycle.
- Replace ice maker assembly: If the motor does not run during test or the position sensor fails, replace the complete Cecotec ice maker assembly for reliability.
- Test operation: Restore power, allow the freezer to reach proper temperature, and monitor for normal ice production and clearing of E12.
