Possible Causes
Misplaced freezer sensor not in correct location, Sensor partially out of insulation, Poor thermal contact with evaporator, Firmware calibration issue on main board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the refrigerator before accessing the freezer interior.
- Verify sensor placement: Remove the freezer rear panel and locate the freezer NTC sensor. Ensure it is clipped firmly to the designated tube or bracket.
- Check insulation: Make sure the sensor wire entry point into the foam is sealed and not allowing warm air infiltration.
- Secure sensor: If loose, reattach with the original clip or a new clip, ensuring good contact with the metal surface.
- Monitor temperatures: Restore power and use a separate thermometer to compare actual freezer temperature with the display. If the difference remains large and E17 persists, the main board may require replacement or firmware update by Cecotec service.
