Possible Causes

Defective ice room NTC sensor, Loose or corroded sensor connector, Damaged harness in ice maker door or wall, Faulty main control board sensor channel

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Disconnect power before working in the ice maker area.

  • Locate ice room sensor: In Cecotec models with an internal ice room, the sensor is usually behind a small cover near the ice maker or in the ice storage compartment.
  • Inspect sensor and wiring: Remove the cover and check for moisture damage, broken wires, or loose connectors.
  • Dry and reseat: If condensation is present, gently dry the area and reseat the connector. Ensure the sensor is firmly clipped in place.
  • Replace sensor if faulty: If the sensor is physically damaged or tests open/short with a multimeter, replace it with a Cecotec-compatible ice room NTC sensor.
  • Test operation: Restore power and allow the unit to run for several hours. Confirm that E5 clears and the ice maker resumes normal operation.
