Possible Causes
Failed ambient NTC sensor (often in front grille or control housing), Disconnected or damaged sensor wiring, Corroded connector at main control board, Main control board sensor input failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before accessing control housings or wiring.
- Locate ambient sensor: On many Cecotec refrigerators, the ambient sensor is located near the front grille, behind the control panel, or in the top hinge area.
- Inspect sensor: Check for physical damage, dirt, or corrosion. Clean gently with a dry cloth if dirty.
- Check wiring and connector: Ensure the sensor harness is intact and the connector at the control board is fully seated.
- Replace sensor if needed: If the sensor is open/shorted or visibly damaged, install a Cecotec-compatible ambient NTC sensor.
- Test: Restore power and verify that the ambient temperature displays correctly and E7 disappears.
