Possible Causes

Ice fan motor failure, Ice fan blade obstructed by ice buildup, Faulty ice room fan wiring harness, Main control board fan driver failure

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the refrigerator or switch off the dedicated breaker before removing any panels.

This code indicates the ice room (ice compartment) fan is not operating correctly.

  • Check for airflow obstruction: Open the ice compartment and inspect the ice fan area (behind the ice maker housing on Dacor French-door models). Look for frost or ice buildup around the fan shroud. If present, defrost the area by leaving the unit unplugged with doors open for several hours, or use a hair dryer on low heat at a safe distance (do not overheat plastic).
  • Verify fan operation: After defrosting, restore power and listen for the ice fan when the doors are closed and ice production is active. If the fan does not run, the fan motor may be defective.
  • Inspect wiring: With power off again, remove the ice room cover and check the fan motor connector and harness for loose plugs, corrosion, or damaged wires. Reseat the connector firmly.
  • Reset control: After corrections, power cycle the refrigerator for 5 minutes and then turn it back on to clear the error. If ER IF returns, the fan motor or main control board is likely faulty.

If you are not comfortable removing interior panels or working near wiring, contact a qualified Dacor technician.
