Safety: Unplug the refrigerator before removing interior panels.

When the freezer is cold but the refrigerator is warm, cold air is not circulating.

Check airflow vents: Ensure food items are not blocking the vents between freezer and refrigerator compartments.
Inspect for frost: Remove the rear interior panel of the freezer or fresh food section (depending on model). If the evaporator is encased in solid ice, the defrost system has failed.
Manual defrost: As a temporary fix, fully defrost the evaporator by leaving the unit unplugged with doors open until all ice melts. Place towels to catch water.
Verify fan operation: After defrosting and reassembling, restore power and listen for the evaporator fan. If it does not run, the fan motor or wiring is faulty.

Permanent repair requires diagnosing and replacing the failed defrost component or fan.
