Possible Causes
Dirty condenser coils, Warm room or poor ventilation around cabinet, Faulty temperature sensor (thermistor), Leaky door gaskets allowing air infiltration
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before cleaning or adjusting components.
- Clean condenser coils: Remove dust and pet hair from coils and compressor area.
- Check ventilation: Ensure there is adequate clearance around the sides, top, and back per Dacor specifications.
- Inspect door gaskets: Close a sheet of paper in the door and pull; if it slides out easily, the gasket may not be sealing. Clean gaskets with warm soapy water and check for warping.
- Verify temperature settings: Set refrigerator to about 37°F (3°C) and freezer to 0°F (-18°C). Avoid setting colder than necessary.
If the unit still runs continuously, a faulty thermistor or control board may be misreading temperature and should be tested and replaced as needed.
