Danby refrigerator displays E6 and may not respond correctly to temperature settings.

Safety: Unplug the refrigerator before removing the control panel or accessing the main board.

Steps to troubleshoot E6:

• Power cycle: Disconnect power for 5–10 minutes, then restore. If E6 returns, continue.
• Access the control panel: Remove the screws or clips securing the front control panel (usually at the top of the fresh food compartment or on the door for some models).
• Inspect connectors: Carefully disconnect and reconnect the ribbon cable or harness between the user interface and the main control board. Look for bent pins, corrosion, or damaged traces.
• Check for moisture: Ensure there is no condensation or liquid damage on the control panel. Dry gently if needed.
• Visual inspection of boards: Look for burnt components, cracked solder joints, or bulging capacitors on both the UI board and main control board.
• Replace faulty board: If reseating connectors does not clear the error, replace the user interface board first. If the problem persists, the main control board may also need replacement. Board-level repairs should be done by a qualified technician.
