Check vents: Ensure food packages are not blocking the vents between freezer and fresh food sections.
Listen for fan: Open the freezer door and press the door switch; you should hear the evaporator fan running. If not, see the evaporator fan motor entry.
Inspect for ice: Remove the freezer rear panel and check for ice blocking the fan or air channels. Defrost any ice buildup and investigate defrost system issues if ice returns.
Check air damper (if equipped): Locate the damper assembly between compartments. Verify that it opens and closes freely. Replace the damper if it is stuck or broken.
Reassemble and test: After clearing obstructions and repairing components, reassemble panels and monitor temperatures in both compartments.
