Possible Causes
Shorted thermistor, Moisture in sensor connector, Pinched sensor wiring, Failed main control board input circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before testing.
- Locate the indicated sensor: Use the tech sheet to identify which thermistor is reporting SH.
- Inspect for moisture: Remove the sensor cover and check for condensation or water in the connector. Dry thoroughly and reseat.
- Measure resistance: At room temperature, a shorted thermistor will read near 0 Ω. Replace the thermistor if it reads extremely low resistance.
- Check wiring: Look for pinched or rubbed-through insulation causing a short to ground or between wires. Repair as needed.
- Control board: If the sensor and wiring are good but SH persists, the main control board’s sensor input may be shorted internally and require replacement.
