Possible Causes

Defective water inlet valve coil, Blocked water filter causing low flow, Faulty flow meter (if equipped), Loose wiring to valve assembly

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the refrigerator and shut off the household water supply before working on the water system.

Steps:

  • Check water supply: Ensure the household shutoff valve is fully open and that the supply line to the refrigerator is not kinked.
  • Replace water filter: A clogged filter can cause low flow and trigger errors. Replace the Etna refrigerator water filter if it is older than the recommended interval or visibly clogged.
  • Access inlet valve: Remove the lower rear panel to locate the water inlet valve assembly. Inspect for leaks, cracks, or loose electrical connectors.
  • Test valve coils: With power disconnected, remove the connectors and measure resistance across each coil. An open circuit indicates a failed coil.
  • Check flow sensor (if present): Some Etna models include a flow meter in the water line. Ensure its connectors are secure and that there are no kinks before/after it.
  • Replace faulty parts: Install a new Etna water inlet valve assembly or flow meter if defective. Use new seals and tighten fittings securely, but do not overtighten plastic threads.
  • Restore water and power: Turn on the water supply, check for leaks, then plug in the refrigerator. Test dispenser and ice maker and confirm the E11 code clears.
