Possible Causes
Failed display PCB, Loose ribbon cable between UI and main board, Moisture ingress behind control panel, Faulty touch keys or buttons
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before removing the control panel or display module.
Steps:
- Access control panel: Depending on the Etna model, gently pry off the front control panel or remove screws from behind the trim to expose the display PCB.
- Inspect for moisture: Look for condensation, water stains, or corrosion on the PCB. If present, dry the area thoroughly and consider the source of moisture (door gasket leaks, spills).
- Check connections: Reseat any ribbon cables or harness connectors between the display PCB and the main control PCB. Ensure they are fully inserted and locked.
- Visual inspection: Look for burnt components or cracked solder joints on the display PCB.
- Test buttons: With the panel reconnected and power restored, test each button or touch area. If some or all are unresponsive and E13 persists, the display PCB is likely defective.
- Replace display PCB: Install a new Etna refrigerator display PCB / user interface board matched to your model. Transfer any plastic overlays or seals as needed.
