Possible Causes
Clogged ice maker fill tube, Faulty ice maker module, Ice maker turned off via switch or control, Defective water inlet valve ice circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the refrigerator and shut off water before working on the ice maker.
Steps:
- Verify ice maker is on: Check the ice maker power switch or control panel setting to ensure it is enabled.
- Inspect ice mold: Remove the ice bin and look at the ice mold. If it is empty and dry, water is not reaching the ice maker.
- Check fill tube: Inspect the ice maker fill tube for ice blockage. Clear it by gently warming with a hair dryer on low.
- Test water valve: The water inlet valve often has separate coils for dispenser and ice. If the ice coil is open or not energizing, replace the Etna water inlet valve assembly.
- Replace ice maker module: If water fills but the ice maker does not cycle or eject ice, replace the Etna ice maker assembly.
