Possible Causes
Defective magnetic reed door switch, Misaligned door magnet, Broken wiring to door switch, Faulty main control board door input circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect the refrigerator from mains power before removing door switch components.
Steps:
- 1. Locate door switches: On most Fagor refrigerators, door switches are located in the cabinet frame near the top or side of each door opening.
- 2. Check door alignment: Ensure doors close fully and gaskets make uniform contact. A sagging door may not actuate the switch properly.
- 3. Test the switch: Gently pry out the switch from the liner. Disconnect the connector and test continuity while pressing and releasing the switch plunger. It should change state (open/closed). If not, replace the switch.
- 4. Magnetic sensor models: If your model uses a magnetic reed sensor, verify that the door magnet is present and aligned with the sensor. Replace missing magnets or misaligned trims.
- 5. Inspect wiring: Check the harness from the switch to the main PCB for damage or loose connections.
- 6. Replace faulty parts: Install a new door switch or sensor as needed. Refit into the liner and ensure it is firmly seated.
- 7. Test: Restore power and open/close the doors to confirm that the alarm stops and E11 clears.
