Error code E8 appears and the freezer fan or refrigerator fan does not run, causing uneven temperatures and frost buildup.

Safety first: Unplug the refrigerator before accessing the fan area. Beware of sharp metal edges and ice.

Steps:

• 1. Confirm fan operation: With doors closed for several minutes, listen for the evaporator fan running. If silent and E8 is displayed, proceed with inspection.
• 2. Access the fan: Remove freezer drawers and the rear inner panel to expose the evaporator and fan assembly.
• 3. Check for ice blockage: Look for ice buildup around the fan shroud and blades. If present, fully defrost the area using a hair dryer on low or by leaving the unit unplugged with doors open. Do not pry ice with tools.
• 4. Spin the fan by hand: With power off, gently rotate the fan blade. It should spin freely without grinding. If seized or very stiff, the motor is likely faulty.
• 5. Electrical tests: Disconnect the fan connector and measure motor resistance; an open circuit indicates a failed motor. Also inspect the harness for damage.
• 6. Replace the fan motor: Unscrew or unclip the fan motor assembly and install a new Fagor-compatible evaporator fan motor. Ensure the blade is correctly oriented and secure.
• 7. Check control board if needed: If a new fan does not run and E8 persists, the main control board may not be supplying power to the fan and may require replacement by a technician.
