Possible Causes
Loose compressor mounting or tubing touching cabinet, Faulty or unbalanced condenser fan, Evaporator fan blade hitting ice or wiring, Refrigerator not leveled causing cabinet vibration
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the refrigerator before adjusting components at the rear or inside.
Steps:
- 1. Level the appliance: Adjust the front leveling feet so the refrigerator is stable and does not rock. Slight backward tilt helps doors close.
- 2. Check rear components: Remove the rear panel and inspect compressor mounts and copper tubing. Gently bend any tubing away from the cabinet if it is touching and vibrating.
- 3. Inspect condenser fan: Ensure the fan blade is secure on the motor shaft and not hitting shrouds or wiring. Replace the fan motor or blade if damaged.
- 4. Check evaporator fan: Inside the freezer, remove the rear panel and inspect the fan. Clear any ice or obstructions and ensure the blade is not cracked.
- 5. Reassemble and test: After adjustments, restore power and listen for noise reduction.
