Possible Causes
Dirty condenser coils reducing heat dissipation, Failed condenser fan motor, Door gaskets leaking warm air, Low refrigerant charge or weak compressor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the refrigerator before cleaning coils or working at the rear.
Steps:
- 1. Clean condenser coils: Locate the condenser at the rear or underneath. Use a vacuum and soft brush to remove dust and lint thoroughly.
- 2. Check condenser fan: With the rear panel removed, verify that the condenser fan spins freely and runs when the compressor is on. Replace the fan motor if it does not run (see E14).
- 3. Inspect door seals: Close each door on a sheet of paper and pull; if it slides out easily, the gasket may be worn or misaligned. Replace damaged gaskets.
- 4. Allow time to stabilize: After cleaning and gasket checks, allow 24 hours for temperatures to stabilize. If cooling is still poor, a sealed system issue (refrigerant leak or weak compressor) is likely and requires a professional technician.
