Possible Causes

Clogged internal water filter cartridge, Kinked or partially closed water supply line, Defective water inlet valve coil, Scale buildup in internal water lines

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Close the household water supply valve to the refrigerator before removing the filter or working on water lines. Keep towels handy for spills.

Step 1 – Replace the water filter:

  • Locate the Fhiaba water filter (often inside the refrigerator compartment or grille area).
  • Turn or release the filter according to the arrow direction and pull it out.
  • Install a genuine Fhiaba-compatible replacement filter, ensuring it locks fully into place.
  • Turn the water supply back on and run several liters of water through the dispenser (if equipped) to purge air and carbon fines.

Step 2 – Check water supply line:

  • Inspect the external water line for kinks or sharp bends behind the refrigerator.
  • Verify the shutoff valve at the wall is fully open.

Step 3 – Reset the alarm:

  • Use the control panel to reset the filter or water alarm (refer to the user manual; usually by holding the filter or alarm button for several seconds).
  • If AL05 persists and water flow is still poor, the inlet valve or internal lines may be restricted.

Step 4 – Inlet valve check (advanced):

  • Unplug the refrigerator and access the rear lower panel to reach the water inlet valve assembly.
  • Inspect for leaks or mineral buildup at the valve outlets.
  • A technician can test coil resistance and voltage during a call for water; replace the valve if defective.
