Possible Causes
Door frequently opened or left ajar, Failed door gasket allowing warm moist air in, Defective compartment humidity sensor, Evaporator not reaching proper temperature due to fan or refrigerant issue
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before adjusting door hinges or replacing gaskets to avoid accidental fan or light operation.
Step 1 – Usage and environment:
- Reduce the frequency and duration of door openings, especially in humid climates.
- Ensure hot foods are cooled to room temperature before placing them inside.
Step 2 – Inspect door gaskets:
- Check the gasket around the affected compartment for tears, gaps, or hardened sections.
- Close a thin sheet of paper in the door at several points; if it pulls out easily without resistance, the seal is weak.
- Clean the gasket with warm soapy water and dry thoroughly; sometimes dirt prevents a good seal.
- If the gasket is damaged or warped, replace it with a Fhiaba-specific gasket.
Step 3 – Check for cooling issues:
- Verify that the compartment is reaching its set temperature; if it is also warm, investigate fan and evaporator performance.
- Listen for the evaporator fan and check for frost buildup behind the rear panel.
Step 4 – Sensor and control:
- If humidity remains high and AL09 persists despite good sealing and normal cooling, the humidity sensor or control board may be faulty.
- Replacement of the sensor should be done by a technician familiar with Fhiaba electronics.
