Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before accessing interior panels or control boards. Use anti-static precautions when handling electronic boards.
Step 1 – Locate the refrigerator NTC sensor:
- The sensor is typically behind a small plastic cover on the rear interior wall or clipped to the evaporator behind the panel.
- Remove the cover or panel carefully to expose the sensor.
Step 2 – Inspect wiring and connections:
- Check the sensor connector for corrosion, moisture, or loose pins.
- Follow the harness as far as accessible to ensure it is not pinched or cut.
Step 3 – Test the sensor (if equipped):
- With a multimeter, measure the resistance of the NTC at room temperature and compare to Fhiaba's specification chart.
- If the reading is open (infinite) or near zero ohms, the sensor is defective and should be replaced.
Step 4 – Replace sensor and reset:
- Install a genuine Fhiaba replacement NTC sensor, routing the harness as originally installed.
- Reconnect power and clear the E01 error via the control panel (if not auto-clearing).
- If E01 returns with a new sensor and good wiring, the main control board likely needs replacement by a technician.
