Possible Causes
Failed TriMode NTC sensor, Loose or corroded sensor connector, Harness damage in cabinet channel, Defective control board input for TriMode sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before accessing the TriMode compartment panels or control electronics.
Step 1 – Locate the TriMode sensor:
- Remove the interior panel or cover in the TriMode compartment to access the sensor housing.
- The sensor may be clipped to a small bracket or embedded in a plastic holder.
Step 2 – Inspect and test:
- Check the sensor body and wiring for signs of moisture or physical damage.
- Measure resistance and compare to the Fhiaba NTC chart; replace if out of spec.
Step 3 – Replace sensor if needed:
- Install the new sensor in the same location to ensure accurate temperature sensing.
- Secure the wiring to prevent rubbing or pinching when panels are reinstalled.
Step 4 – Control board check:
- If a known-good sensor still results in E03, the main control board may not be reading the sensor correctly.
- Board replacement should be performed by a qualified technician due to calibration and safety considerations.
