Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before accessing the evaporator fan. Fan blades can start unexpectedly and cause injury.
Step 1 – Access the fan:
- Remove shelves and the rear interior panel of the affected compartment.
- Locate the evaporator fan assembly mounted near the evaporator coil.
Step 2 – Inspect for ice or debris:
- Check if ice has formed around the fan shroud or blades; if so, allow ice to melt or gently remove it with warm air.
- Ensure the fan spins freely by hand.
Step 3 – Electrical checks:
- Inspect the fan connector and wiring for damage.
- With the fan disconnected, measure motor resistance; an open circuit indicates a failed motor.
Step 4 – Replace fan motor:
- Install a new Fhiaba-compatible evaporator fan motor, transferring the fan blade if necessary.
- Secure wiring away from moving parts and sharp edges.
- Reassemble panels, restore power, and verify fan operation when the compressor runs.
Note: If a new fan does not run and E06 remains, the control board's fan output may be defective and should be tested by a technician.
